Almost every food law regulation is legally secured by corresponding facts as criminal and administrative offences. The administrative authorities, such as the local food inspection authorities or the weights and measures offices, are responsible for administrative offence proceedings. The public prosecutor&#8217;s offices conduct criminal investigations with the assistance of the police.
